About Leonardo in the UK
Discover who we are, what we do and how our work in the UK is shaping the technology of the future.

Leonardo is one of the UK’s leading aerospace, defence, and security companies.
We design and build advanced technology used on aircraft, helicopters, ships, and in space, helping to keep people safe and connected.
In the UK, we employ around 9,500 people across 10 main sites, working on everything from helicopters in Yeovil to cyber security and electronics in places like Luton, Bristol and Edinburgh.
We’re also part of a global Leonardo team of over 60,000 people worldwide, working on some of the world’s most exciting engineering and technology programmes.

In the UK, Leonardo focuses on three key areas: helicopters, electronics and cyber.
Our teams design, build and support helicopters used by emergency services, the military and organisations around the world.
Alongside this, our cyber specialists protect digital systems, networks and data, helping to keep critical services and organisations secure.
We also create advanced electronic systems such as radar and sensors that help aircraft, ships and vehicles see, communicate and operate safely.

Leonardo works across 10 main sites in the UK, each supporting our specialisms in helicopters, electronics, and cyber.
Yeovil is our UK centre for helicopters, where aircraft are designed, built, and supported, and we also have a helicopter facility recently opened in Elstree. Bristol is our main hub for cyber, focusing on cyber security, digital systems and protecting critical infrastructure.
Luton, Lincoln, Edinburgh, and Basildon specialise in electronics, including radar, sensors, protective systems, communications and data science.
Southampton focuses on electronics and space technologies, supporting satellite systems and advanced sensing.
Newcastle specialises in artificial intelligence, digital innovation and emerging technologies.
London is our UK head office, supporting operations, collaboration and strategic programmes.
